To say that would be an understatement, but I feel that it is the most appropriate thing to say about this amazing piece of work. If you don't know what the "Life In A Day" project was, let me clue you in a bit...
On July 24th, 2010, a challenge was issued by oscar nominated director, Ridley Scott, and director, Kevin Macdonald, to document a single day of your life on planet earth. But not only was it to be done from one man's point of view, it was to be done by the world... Over 4.5 thousand hours of footage later, and tens of thousands of entries made, a 90 minute documentary was created.
After watching it, I immediately regretted not being a part of this amazing movement. The ability to experience all the different kinds of emotions (ranging from happiness to sadness, love to regret, and fear to acceptance) in just a little over 90 minutes was a journey in of itself. This documentary captures what I love most about filmmaking, which is the reality of life. Nothing is always going to end peacefully, and I feel that it is important for people to understand that. Saying that however, I still love the feeling of a happy ending when one truly deserves it. All in all, this was an awesome piece of film and I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD when it will include 45 minutes cut from the original edit! :D
If you missed it tonight, you can view it on its youtube page at 7 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST). Here's the link and I hope that you watch it and enjoy it as much as I did ;D
